Self-taught painter, Lima Jr. uses the technique of oil on textured canvas. His artistic tendency is a modern figurative, representing dreams and infant fantasies that live inside us. He pictures on a fantastic way playful scenes, circus figures, musicians and landscapes, daily and from other times. The past, the present and why not, the future…

“As an artist, but especially as a gallery owner and curator, I know numerous excellent artists from many countries. Most of them have developed a personal style and painting techniques of their own, which is not at all easy, as “almost everything” has already been done in art. The art of Lima Junior is all the more remarkable. Not only are his whimsical figures and pictorial compositions unusual. The idiosyncrasy of his paintings arises from the mix of style elements reminiscent of Picasso’s cubism with details that could come from comic books, but also from the combination of warm and cool colors, as well as the play of light and shadow. Der autodidaktische Maler Lima Jr. verwendet die Technik von Öl auf strukturierter Leinwand. Seine künstlerische Tendenz ist eine moderne figurative, die Träume und kindliche Fantasien, die in uns leben, darstellt. Er malt auf fantastische Weise verspielte Szenen, Zirkusfiguren, Musiker und Landschaften, alltäglich und aus anderen Zeiten. Die Vergangenheit, die Gegenwart und, warum nicht, die Zukunft…

“Als Künstler, aber vor allem als Galerist und Kurator, kenne ich zahlreiche hervorragende Künstler aus vielen Ländern. Die meisten von ihnen haben einen eigenen Stil und eigene Maltechniken entwickelt, was gar nicht so einfach ist, denn in der Kunst ist “fast alles” schon gemacht worden. Umso bemerkenswerter ist die Kunst von Lima Junior. Nicht nur seine skurrilen Figuren und Bildkompositionen sind ungewöhnlich. Die Eigenart seiner Bilder ergibt sich aus der Mischung von Stilelementen, die an den Kubismus Picassos erinnern, mit Details, die aus Comics stammen könnten, aber auch aus der Kombination von warmen und kühlen Farben sowie dem Spiel von Licht und Schatten.
